Meet The herd

Horses are a vital part of our base, our ministry, and to our lives. God has blessed us abundantly with incredible horses. We do our best to take care of them and be good stewards of their health and management. Because of this, we want people to meet our horses and have an opportunity to partner with us through the sponsorship program and help an individual horse or the herd in general to keep them at their best.

Red

If you want to learn to ride or learn to rope and ride, Red is the man for the job. At 22, he has been around the block and been a solid cowboy horse for many years. But he is still happy to ride down the trail.

Gemma

A 12 year old quarter horse. She's an athletic gal who enjoys being at the front of the pack. Her short stature allows people to get on with ease, but remember to hang on.

Jolene

Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Joooleeeeeennnnneee. A 16 year old registered quarter horse. She's born and bred to cover ground. A true cowboy's horse. She's most happy behind a cow.

Ralph

Ralph stands out in our herd as the tallest and only Thoroughbred. He started his life as a race horse, then a jumping horse, put in is time as a barrel horse and now he is trying his luck as a cow horse. He does a great job taking care of his rider no matter the discipline.

Jasper

A 10 year old registered quarter horse. The son of Jolene who is learning to be a true gentleman. He is shaping up to be a one of a kind beginner horse.

Moonshine

A 12 year old registered gray quarter horse. A great all around horse who's tougher than nails and enjoys eating cows for breakfast.

Annie

A 13 year old registered quarter horse who is the babysitter of the herd. She wants everyone to stick together and get along. She may be tiny but she can take care of herself and her rider.

Oakley

Oakley is a Wyoming mustang, who is small and tough. She did not like people at first but has turned into a sweetheart and already under saddle

Charlie

Charlie and Sonic started their lives in Texas with an incredible woman, but when she was no longer able to care for them because of her health, they were given to the base. Charlie didn't know what to do with snow, but has adjusted amazing and has turned into an incredible mountain horse. He loves to work hard and needs a steady hand to bring out his best.

Sonic

Sonic, like Charlie started off in Texas. While he isn't the most pretty horse, he loves every aspect of ranch work. Best for someone who can stay calm there isn't much he won't try. Other than jumping...he is not a good jumper. Come by and ask for the story sometime!

Concho

Concho came to us for free after the loss of one of our favorite beginner horses. Concho didn't fit the bill because he came bucking, but after he got on the property he never lost his mind again. He has turned in a spectacular beginner horse. But don't be fooled, he can gather cows and drag calves with the best cowboy horse

Flicka

Flicka came to us a very ungainly and scared young filly. She is a draft x and has grown like a weed. Because of her size and age (she is now 4) she is still in training. Flicka has been a big project and given our staff a challenge, but is slowly coming around to a steady usable horse!

Wootz

Wootz is a Wyoming mustang, built like a tank and used to being in charge, but she is already being ridden. Where she will go in training is the exciting journey

Oro

Oro is a Colorado mustang, cute as a button and still in training. We look forward to what she can turn into.
